The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad operates seven days a week, starting Saturday, May 24, and continuing through Sunday, October 19. There are eight itineraries, as summarized at right. You can also view the available trips originating from Antonito or Chama by using the menu above. Child rates pertain to those children between the ages of 2 and 11. Kids under 2 ride for free.
From July 6 to August 24, we also offer the “Sunday Express,” from Chama to Cumbres and return. These trains will run on Sundays departing from Chama 11AM to return to Chama at 3PM and will be themed for a unique family adventure. The line up includes:
July 13-Nature Train--In conjunction with the Osprey Fest , being held at Heron Lake State Park this same weekend, the C&T will host a 'Nature Train' complete with a guide from Heron Lake State Park, who will be on hand to point out the unique flora and fauna along the rail of the C&T.
July 27--Cowboy Days complete with a staged train robbery--Good guys versus the bad guys. Join us aboard the C&T to witness a great train robbery. Bad guys beware!
August 10-The Gospel Train-What better way to spend a Sunday but aboard the Gospel Train singing tunes that are sure to touch your heart and soul. Gospel Singing Minstrels will stroll the cars for sing alongs and special requests.
Keep checking our website for information on our Mariachi Extravaganza Train. For the mountain bikers, look for our Iron Horse Train in which you can race the train up or down from Cumbres Pass.
From June 12 to August 14, we offer the “Cinder Bear Express,” a shorter trip designed especially for children. This trip operates on Thursdays only.
All trains except the “Sunday Express” and the “Cinder Bear Express” stop for lunch at Osier, Colorado, roughly the mid-point of the railroad. A hot meal with salad bar and homemade desserts is included in the fare prices. The “Cinder Bear Express” includes a picnic lunch at Cumbres.

Return to Chama by train at approximately 3:00 pm.Everybody loves Cinder Bear, the train's official mascot. Kids and parents join him for the four hour round trip from Chama, New Mexico to Cumbres Pass, filled with songs, games, and storytelling. A picnic lunch is included.
