Caboose Charters
Ever climbed into a cupola—the observation deck atop a caboose? Charter a caboose for you and up to eleven guests! (See picture at right.)
Converted in the 1970s from a boxcar, this caboose offers a level of luxury unknown to the train crews that traditionally lived and rode on a caboose: carpeting and cushioned chairs await you. This car seats up to twelve riders (eight on the main level, four in the cupola) and can be rented for any regular itinerary.

Train Charters
Large groups who find existing schedules inconvenient may want to talk to a ticket agent about chartering a train to run on a custom schedule. The itinerary is limited only by your imagination. You may want to charter a train as a fund raiser or for that perfect party. Here are a few sample itineraries to illustrate the possibilities.

The Westward San Juan
Depart Antonito around 8.00am, spend 30 minutes touring the restored company town of Sublette. Stop and view the scenery and the Garfield Monument at Toltec Gorge, before a lunchtime arrival at Osier, or travel straight to Cumbres station for a noon arrival. Return by train or by bus.
The Cumbres Turn
Depart Chama at any convenient time, and arrive at Cumbres 90 minutes later. Return by train or by bus.
The Moonlight Train
Depart Antonito, Cumbres, or Chama in the afternoon for a dinner at Osier. After your meal and a relaxing tour of the valley, take the train to Cumbres, Antonito or Chama.
